The Jordanian Federation for the Disabled Sports was established in 1981, coinciding with the International Year of Persons with Disabilities. It later became the “Jordanian Paralympic Committee” in line with the global system for this sport. The federation was founded under the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Ra’ad bin Zeid, may God protect him, in response to the need for a specialized body to oversee sports for persons with disabilities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Since its inception, the federation has been under the presidency of His Royal Highness, and it continues to receive his guidance, support, and follow-up, alongside the care and oversight of His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Ra’ad, Chief Chamberlain and President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
