The Jordan Paralympic Committee Conducts Medical Tests for Its Athletes
In an effort to enhance athletic performance and improve the health of athletes, the Jordan Paralympic Committee, represented by the Medical Committee headed by Dr. Haitham Hayajneh, conducted a series of health tests for about 136 athletes from various national Paralympic teams.
A specialized medical team participated in these tests, including Therapist Ahmad Hiyassat, Sports Nutritionist Tamara Hlayqa, along with a group of medical experts and therapists.
The tests included athletes from the following teams: Weightlifting, Athletics, Goalball, Wheelchair Basketball, Table Tennis, Boccia, Archery, Badminton, Judo for the Blind, and Cerebral Palsy and Dwarf football.
The Tests included a comprehensive medical Evaluation, Nutritional Analysis, and Body Composition testing using a specialized device for athletes with disabilities, providing accurate data on muscle mass, fat percentage, fluid distribution, and other health indicators that identify strengths and weaknesses for each athlete.
Based on these results, the medical team began developing personalized treatment and rehabilitation plans for each athlete, aiming to improve their athletic performance and elevate their levels.
This initiative comes as part of the Jordan Paralympic Committee’s efforts to make a significant leap in the medical, nutritional, and rehabilitative fields, contributing to the preparation of a generation of champions capable of achieving local, regional, and international sports achievements.
