Jordan Paralympic Committee Graduates 69 Participants from Three Specialized Wheelchair Basketball Courses

The Wheelchair Basketball Department of the Jordan Paralympic Committee, chaired by Lubna Karadsheh, has concluded three specialized training courses: a Coaching Course, a Refereeing Course, and a Classification Course. A total of 69 participants from various governorates across the Kingdom took part.

The courses were led by a distinguished group of experts. Coach Samir Nassar conducted the Coaching Course, while international referee Ayman Al-Momani supervised the Refereeing Course. The Classification Course was delivered by international classifiers Taher Abu Hijleh, Mohammad Sarhan, and Yousef Samrin.

These courses aimed to qualify and develop national professionals in the field of wheelchair basketball by providing participants with the necessary knowledge and skills in coaching, refereeing, and classification, in accordance with the latest internationally recognized standards.

The closing ceremony included the distribution of certificates to participants, attended by the President of the Jordan Paralympic Committee, Prof. Dr. Omar Hindawi; Secretary-General Ms. Rula Al-Amro; Vice President and Head of the Technical Committee, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Tayeb; and Treasurer Mr. Amer Lafi.

Dr. Hindawi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the lecturers and participants, emphasizing the importance of such programs in building a strong foundation of specialized professionals to support the advancement of Paralympic sports in Jordan.

These courses are part of the Jordan Paralympic Committee’s broader strategy to develop Paralympic sports and promote community engagement in sports activities for persons with disabilities.
