The Jordan Paralympic Committee, in cooperation with the Hashemite University, organized a series of advanced physical assessments for a number of Paralympic sports champions. The tests were conducted at the Exercise Physiology Laboratory in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences.
The assessments, supervised by a specialized team from the faculty, included measuring maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max) to evaluate the athletes’ overall physical condition and determine their fitness levels. The results will help in designing customized training programs that address individual differences and the specific needs of each athlete.
Organizers emphasized that this initiative aligns with the university’s vision to support the sports community and reinforce its scientific role in enhancing the performance of Paralympic athletes. They noted that the test results will serve as a scientific reference for coaches in preparing training plans aimed at improving athletes’ readiness and achieving success at both local and international levels.
For its part, the Jordan Paralympic Committee expressed its appreciation for this constructive cooperation, highlighting the importance of partnerships with national universities to support Paralympic champions both scientifically and physically. Such collaborations are expected to positively impact athletes’ participation in upcoming competitions.
The Committee also confirmed that these physical assessments are in line with the new Board’s strategic direction, which places special emphasis on medical care and seeks to enhance comprehensive health services for athletes as an essential part of its strategy to improve sports performance.
