Successful Conclusion of the Boccia Championship at the Jordan Paralympic Committee with Participation of 22 Athletes

The Jordan Paralympic Committee wrapped up its five-day Boccia Championship on Monday evening with a vibrant closing ceremony that celebrated outstanding sportsmanship and growing talent in the sport. The tournament brought together 22 athletes representing four clubs—Ataya Al-Haneen, Madaba, Al-Wafaa, and Al-Mustaqbal—who competed across three categories in a spirited and professional environment.

The championship reflected the remarkable progress in athletes’ performance and the rising interest in boccia across the Kingdom. The event was marked by high-level competition, enthusiastic attendance from families and supporters, and a strong sense of community and inclusion.
In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Omar Hindawi, President of the Jordan Paralympic Committee and event patron, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the athletes and clubs, underscoring the importance of continuous support and development for Paralympic sports in Jordan.
Vice President of the Jordan Paralympic Committee Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Tayeb and Secretary-General Ms. Rula Al-Amro commended the tournament’s organization and the athletes’ accomplishments.
Mr. Naseef Al-Majdoubah, Head of the Boccia Department, praised the players’ achievements and emphasized the need to expand training and development programs for the sport.
Speaking on behalf of the athletes’ families, a representative proudly stated: “Every athlete has a story of light,” reflecting the challenges and determination that shaped their inspiring journeys.
The event concluded with the honoring of winners, participants, and referees, followed by the distribution of medals and certificates of appreciation. The ceremony was attended by a number of officials, club representatives, and members of the Jordan Paralympic Committee.
