JPC Celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Jordan Paralympic Committee celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities today, Tuesday, by organizing an introductory activity on archery in collaboration with the Power Archery Academy. The event was attended by the President of the Jordan Paralympic Committee, Prof. Omar Al-Hindawi, the Vice President and Head of the Technical Committee, Prof. Mohammed Abu Al-Tayeb, and Dr. Essam Al-Shabar, Director of the Academy.

The activity was held in the Paralympic Committee’s hall and included an introductory presentation about the sport, with the participation of several athletes with disabilities.

This activity aligns with the Jordan Paralympic Committee’s direction to introduce new sports into its programs and future plans.

In a related event, the Committee also participated in an activity organized by Yarmouk University for the occasion. The event was attended by the Secretary-General of the Jordan Paralympic Committee, Mr. Mutaz Al-Junaidi, and the national Boccia team player, Haneen Nassif Al-Majdoubah.

Al-Junaidi delivered a speech to a gathering of faculty members and students, expressing his gratitude to Yarmouk University for its consistent efforts in organizing activities for persons with disabilities, which promote their inclusion in society and highlight their capabilities and achievements.

Haneen Al-Majdoubah performed a Boccia demonstration for the audience, aiming to introduce them to the sport, which was met with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the Al-Nahda Club team presented another demonstration of wheelchair basketball, which also captivated the attendees.
