The Basketball Department of the Jordanian Paralympic Committee held its first meeting, chaired by Ms. Lubna Kradsha, with the attendance of the President of the Jordanian Paralympic Committee, Professor Dr. Omar Hendawi, and the department members: Ms. Diana Dallo, Ms. Maysoun Nashawaat, Mr. Ayman Al-Momani, Mr. Mohammad Al-Khazaileh, Mr. Mohammad Sarhan, Mr. Fadi Qudsieh, and Mr. Youssef Samreen.
Dr. Hendawi opened the session by welcoming the members of the department, thanking them for their volunteerism and praising their experience and expertise in basketball. He also provided them with a brief history of basketball within the Paralympic Committee and expressed his hopes for everyone to exert their best efforts to serve and develop the sport.
For her part, Ms. Kradsha expressed her gratitude, pride, and appreciation for the trust that the Paralympic Committee had placed in this distinguished group of department members. She emphasized the importance of cooperation among all to elevate the sport and ensure they live up to everyone’s expectations.
During the meeting, the following assignments were made:
- Mr. Youssef Samreen was appointed as the department’s secretary.
- Mr. Ayman Al-Momani was appointed as the head of the Referees Committee.
- Ms. Diana Dallo was appointed as the head of the Technical Committee.
- Mr. Mohammad Al-Khazaileh was appointed as the head of the Development Committee.
- Mr. Mohammad Sarhan was appointed as the head of the Classification Committee.
Decisions:
- Holding the All-Star (Lightning) Championship from February 13 to 15, 2024.
- Organizing a training course for certified referees and coaches from February 10 to 15, 2024.
- Requesting to hold an international championship in preparation for the 2025 Youth World Championship in Thailand.
- Approval of Mr. Mohammad Sarhan’s proposal to develop a future vision for the basketball game.
